It could be a bad CV joint

i have a 2000 sunfire gt, and experienced the exact same problem just before i broke a con rod at 120 km/h. may not bre the same thing, but i'd have it checked out. oh ya, it had 39,900 km on it at the time.

Spark knock. Use higher octane fuel.

i have the same exact problem, but it happens after i let the foot off the gas, when i accelerate, you can't hear it
or maybe it does make that sound while accelerating, that annoying rattling sound
Spark knock. Use higher octane fuel.
not quite sure if that would solve it, i'll try though when i remember

Im getting the same problem with my Sunfire. Did you find out what the problem was?Check the serpintine belt tensioner,it may be broken or frooze up. also if the spark plugs or wires are loose it could make a ratteling like a bad rocker arm and not cause a noticable proformance change. :banghead:
