I Have A 2001 Nissan Sentra, And I'm Going To Have It Painted, But I Want To Do The Prep Work My-self, So What Exactly, Do I Need As Far As Suplies? One More Question Would It Be Easier To Wet Sand It Then Apply The Primer,or Sand It Down Completly And Then Primer It?

i think if you want your car to look better then just completely peel off all the original paint. i would use some paint remover crap that burns the hell out of you if you touch it. then just sand it with thin sand paper, clean it really good, then apply primer.

You'll need a DA (dual action) sander, some 320 or 400 sanding discs. I wouldn't recommend stripping the car its way too much work and not at all neccesary. If the car has a pretty good base coat, meaning no rust or peeling just run the DA over it and primer it. Wet sanding isn't really neccesary and won't cut the clear coat which is needed for good adhesion for new paint. You didn't say whether its going back to original paint or not so I'll assume you're talking custom. If you are going back to original color you don't need primer except for bare spots and repair spots. If you need to fill some small imperfections with putty you'll need to use 180, 220, with a sanding block not the DA it leaves it wavy. Use a good prep clean solvent before spraying.

If you have questions about any supplies talk to the parts house you buy from and they can explain.

If a shop is painting the car you probably won't save much money by prepping it yourself, and its usually better to let the shop do it so the paint products all match, mixing products isn't such a good thing.

Good luck.
