I have a 93 CE 124 body, it has the inline 6 with 32 valves. I have owned it for a while now (7 years). I have 2 distinct problems:
1) i have replaced my driver's side seat frame 2 x now and it has broke once again. Is there an aftermarket seat that would work far better then this crappy mbz one that seems to fail in the same place everytime. its super annoying having to have to fix this seat every 2 years on adverage. MBZ says it is pretty common in the CE. i was thinking of replacing the whole seat and maybe getting one with the similar power features and in a diff. color leather.
2) I think my idle contol module is failing. when i put the car in park it will idle at 750-800 rpm then all of a sudden it will fluctuate from 1800 to 600rpm. the tach just bounces until i put it in drive. my mechanic said this is a part that fails on all 92-98 mbz's. to fix the annoying idle the part alone costs $1200. Is this true or could it be something else?
