Anyone have experience with a Jerico DR4 tranny? I purchaced a used one a couple years ago for a 460 powered 69 Mach 1 project. I bought a clutch & pressure plate from McCleod and also a hydraulic throw-out bearing. I'm thinking about hooking up a line-loc to the clutch and releasing the clutch off a tranny brake button. Has anybody done this that can offer tips or lessons learned? Also, how brutal are these trannies for street driving? It will be street driven some but mostly a track car.

the line-loc thing is a good idea, i wonder how well it works... i'll be converting my notch to hydraulic clutch once i have my t-56.

i think street drivability depends entirely on engine power and overall gearing. streeting a built big-block is going to be difficult no matter what tranny you have. i myself am worried about streeting my 408W, but it'll make its real power on spray anyway =D

Just to clarify and avoid confusion, I'm not talking about a slave cylinder type hydraulic clutch that still uses a pivot arm to actuate the throw-out bearing. This hydraulic throw-out bearing has 2 braided steel lines that will be hooked to a master cylinder attached to the clutch pedal. The shifter is a Long ratchet type. It has a straight back and forth pattern. The engine's current build is relativley mild, at a builder estimated 550hp. Bischoff Racing Engines built it. Don't know if everyone knows of them, but they build some pretty hot engines, so I trust their estimate. I lost the 460 in my truck last fall and borrowed the 460 from the Mach. It did surprising well as a daily driver but it was too much for my truck. It's going back into the 69 but I found from the street driving, that it can be a little more radical, so I'll be sending it back to Bischoff's for a "tune-up". The tranny brake button is adjustable but I don't know just how how effective it will be for dialing in R/T. Anyone use adjustable tranny brake buttons?
