yes...another siting...but this time worse..

im only 16 so i have a nice little bagging job at albertsons...and lucky me i get to push carts all the time..any ways...i was pushing carts for a bit in the parking lot and than i came across it :uhoh:

It was a STOCK mustang. HORRIBLE... not only did it have a GTR badge..but it had an SVT badge as well as a TYPE R badge. it was red with black racing stripes. IT had an AEM and APC sticker on the window, it was horrible.. :banghead: i wanted to just take a crowbar too it...but anyways..it gets worse..to add more "insult to injury" or however the sayin goes... i saw the guy walk out to his car to hop in and drive off..i couldn't help it so i started a quick conv with him.. i asked if that was his car.. he said yes

wow..i forgot to mention the ductaped fog lights in which he tried to install on his car... ya it was really tacky with all of the tape around the lights to hold them in place and shit.. they were almost useless because the tape covered them up. WHAT A FUCKING DISGRACE! i'm tellin ya if i had a gun a woulda shot him, well his car anyways cause the charge would be less of a sentence.

true, but ease of use doesn't make it the best, and neither does predictability. if FF was the way to go then more professional race cars would run it. does F1 go with front drive because it's predictable and easy? no, they go with MR because it combines the handling of FR with the stability of FF. same with Top Fuel, although that's different because it's drag racing.

i'll give FF credit for it's use as a learning platform. learning to roadrace on FF would make the transition to high-power FR a little less harsh. and because of their inherent drivetrain efficiency due to reduced rotating mass plus incredible fuel economy, they make perfect commuter cars.

i believe in a place for everything, and everything in it's place. like a supposedly 10 second Supra beating a blown charger with enough torque to twist its own frame, which is The Gay and The Curious material and simply doesn't happen in real life (at least with good drivers). i drive a Mustang. it belongs on a dragstrip. some guys drive evos and talons. they belong on dirt roads. and some guys drive small, lightweight, 4 cylinder turbo coupes, and they belong on roadcourses and in the drifting scene.

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that cars are as individual as the people who drive them.

The White LX Mustang convertible with the 2.3L four and the automatic transmission my boss's wife bought because she thought it was cute is a far cry from the SVO Mustang my dad's buddy Steve owned with its intercooled turbo 2.3L four and Tremec five-speed. Same platform, totally different cars.

You can't discount a whole car simply because of a few examples. Would it be fair to discount the whole Civic range because of the EX sedan? Or to slam the DSM's because there were FF non-turbo editions?

Even my beloved MGB has its unwanted siblings; the 1975 models with their automatic transmisions, ungainly rubber bumpers, raised ride heights, smogged engines, and lack of sway bars.

Take a car for what it is individually. The Mustang owned by the fuckweed streetrcr45 saw was a bad example of the breed. One of the American Iron class Fox Bodies, with their Steeda & Hotchkiss suspension packages and Baer brakes, are worlds away from that car.

That's the viewpoint to take. Judge cars on their individual merits instead of writing off a whole line simply due to one or two bad examples.
