this looks like a good deal, and with one of these: http://www.mmrusa.com/gudehead.htm and a level 10 PTS/torque converter upgrade, I could be running 300+hp in my little AT civic! Is it too good to be true? I mean, it looks like it's all there. Would I need to buy reinforced pistons and rods, motor mounts and such too? I mean all this power is only coming out to $5000. This is so much cheaper than buying a 300hp car! And oh so much more fun! :D

That head/cams package will bump up your compression (I'm just saying this out of speculation, but I'm GUESSING that the head on there is milled for more compression) which doesn't bode well for a non-intercooled JRSC. Big duration cams don't go well with a JRSC either, that already is a small blower and is going to have problems supplying airflow when a lot of it is being bled off by the cams. Another issue you're going to run into is your auto trans lasting, hondas tranny's arn't exactly world renouned for being stout. Good luck is all I can say.

hmmm you can run an intercooler with a supercharger? that's interesting...
and I know the honda AT trans won't hold up, that's why I'm gonna spend the big bucks on a level ten AT upgrade with a T/C (as stated above). I didn't think about the compression going up so much, I guess that would be bad for low-end torque huh? oh well. At least I know the JRSC will bump me from ~140hp to 200hp. Better than most swaps and easier. Maybe even cheaper...

You can run an intercooler on a blower, but to fab one up to run on your d-series would be way more cost and trouble than it's worth.

Do you have any idea what the level 10 stuff is? It's a new valvebody and a chip that increases trans line pressure, and makes the trans shift quicker. It is not magically going to make the trans take a bunch more power than it would have before, it's a waste of money to try and do anything to your car with an automatic.
The compression wouldn't hurt just low end power, it would hurt power all across the powerband because you would have to pull out timing everywhere to keep you away from detonation. And no, the JRSC + trans mods would not be easier, cheaper, or more reliable than a motor swap. With a haynes manual, you could do a B16 swap in one weekend, and it would cost you around 2300 bucks. Save up some more money, buy a turbo kit, and you will have a ton more power than your D-series would. Or of course you could swap to a manual trans and build up the D, but you arn't going anywhere with the auto.

if what you are saying is true, then alot of people are lying to me. The level 10 is supposed to make your transmission "bulletproof" and the website claims that it will allow your transmission (yes the stock honda AT) to handle up to 600hp. Not to mention, the fastest civics that I have ever run across on the web are PTS upgraded automatics. One civic was supposedly a 10 second car with said tranny.
And I don't know where you live, but here you cant get any b-series engine for less than $3000. And there is no way that I am going to be able to swap out the engine myself without professional help. I'm not a pro at this stuff, heck I had to go to 3star to get my cat-back installed. Anyways, its still more hp and still simpler, if not cheaper by a little bit.
