When will a chiltons or haynes manual be out on this car?

How in the world do you change to spark plugs closest to the firewall?

Oh that is a 2001 Model.

I just bought a Chilton's manual. It's for years 1990-1999, but those manuals are so non-specific that it would OK for your '01. It doesn't say how to get to the rear plugs though. If you remove the front motor mount (the dog bone at the top) you can tilt the engine forward. You can use a chinch strap like you would use to tie down a load on a truck. Let me know if it works, I haven't tried it yet.

I did them. It wasn't easy but I removed the ignition module along with the coil packs on it and was then able to reach the back plugs. I still did a lot of swearing and scrapped my arms up but it is possible.

You do have platinum,100,000 mile plugs in there. Are you having problems? It is easy to get to them when you have the top apart for your intake manifod gasket replacement. My rear plugs were shot, front ones were good at 54,000. I was getting coolant in the rear so maybe thats whythe back ones were shot.

There are several online sources for these books. I have seen Haynes manuals for 1997-2001 Silhouettes. I purchased mine at Overstock.com for my Venture for $6.95 Other online vendors that I have seen carry these include classicgarage.com, amazon.com, and eBay. Although you have the 100,000 mile plugs in the van, it is reccomended to not go that far because of reports of them seizing in the head, and as they age , they deteriorate. When you replace the plugs it is reccomended to use a little anti-seize compound, found at auto parts stores, applied to the threads of the plugs.
