Tire Vibrations

My 2002 Camry LE (4 cylinder, 15 inch tires) with 15K miles seems to have a fair amount of tire vibration through the steering column. Wheels are balanced and alignment is fine. But there is a considerable amount of road vibration and feel. It feels as if the Continental Touring AS tires have little road grip. Would changing to a premium all-season tire like the Michelin Harmony or Hydro-Edge really make a big difference? Can a good set of tires make the car feel more secure with less vibration and road feel?

Not very familiar with Continental Touring AG, did it come with the car?
If it did, it’s probably the cheapest they could get away with. I put a set of new Toyo on my Civic and it made a world of differnce.

I'd say it's tread quality. There is also the possibility of a bent axleshaft, worn or damaged CV (Constant Velocity) joints, or a treadwear issue. I'd try a different set of tires first, and if that don't work, I'd check further into the suspension and drivetrain.
