Of all skylines which model is considered the holly grail?
What sets it apart from the others?

In my opinion, it would be the 400R. It was a very limited R33 GTR (99 made) that came with the race engine RBX-GT2, an RB26 bored to 2.8L with racing internals. Actually, it's basically a street legal race car.
It's a very very nice!

Tough question. Without doubt the R32 series spawned a new generation of Skylines. The GTR as it is known now was born and the face of racing in Japan changed forever with it, not to mention the love and inspiration for the car.
However in saying that the KPGC10 (2 coupe`) was born and is really the first GT-R which featured a DOC 2 litre straight 6 making 160hp. This was back in 1969-1972, the first of the GT series.

Damn straight. The KPGC10 would be my choice :D More modern? I'd dearly love a 280MR, which is to the R33 GTS25t as the 400R is to the R33 GTR :D. The 2.5 litre engine is taken out to 2.8, and with other changes the power is 280PS (of course), and it had the Nismo wheels and stuff. Apparently the torgue was just glorious. :D I had begun to think it was just a figment of the imagination of the creators of Gran Turismo, but then I saw a photo of one. :D Don't know how many were actually made though

in the states, i'd say that ANY skyline is the most desireable...
for me?
i'd like a 400r...
at the same time, i'd like an r33 gtr. then i'd make it the car that i desire, not worry about what others want... ;)

Being a fan of the R33, I would say it would have to be:
400R
then the
LM Edition
400R
then the
LM Edition

My most wanted Skyline is a completely stock (and i mean completely) 1989-1992 R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R. :)

i'd second that. I'd want a completely stock, and in good condition R32 GTR. I don't want something someone has fucked with. I want a preserved R32, just waiting for me to take it back to the states and gut.

Remember the thread is "holly grail" not the best limited produced. As I re-read the thread again the R32 GTR has to be the wholly grail then. It spawned a whole new generation of Skyline from the non-turbo through the GTR line. The R33 and R34 were produced off that model. The R32 was a complete redesign and re-think over previous models.

What the???
If you're just gonna bring it to the USA and gut it then why not get one that isn't stock?
No offense, but its people like you who are basically making the stock R32 GT-R an extinct species. :banghead: Which kinda annoys me as the stock ones will undoubtedly be quite valuable in years to come.
Besides the fact that my chances of getting a stock one are getting slimmer every single day (no job - no work experience - no qualifications) i think its a freaking stupid idea to gut a perfectly good Skyline. GT-R or not. :2cents:

well said! the r32 is the best skyline made. the newer ones are more geared toward street use and comfort than pure performance like the r32 gt-r.

i just want one that no one has messed with, it's not my fault that nissan didn't make an R32 GTR for everyone in the world who wants one. Besides that an R32 (stock) is far from an extinct species. If you really want one, come and get one.

Seriously, just saw the video comparing the Amuse Supra and the Mine's Skyline. For me that is the most attractive Skyline. That thing is just too crazy. And it looks so freaking good.
