I've been lucky lately, haven't been caught in over a year, and I didn't pay the last one. Went to court and got it struck out :D

I've never been caught

Although, once I skided straight up to a Guard who was standing in the middle of the road on a blind bend (great place to be checking tax) - I don't know who got a bigger fright - but it must have been him as he waved me on :D

I was caught once, and not even in my own country but up north in the Netherlands :( The police over there has too much time on their hands :)
But as i was a foreign citizen, i got away with a very low fine (only 40 EUR).

It was about speeding tickets... I found out i had driven to a petrol station. One time when going to the petrol station *flits* , filled my gasoline tank, and back again * flits*. 54 en 57 km/h.
I've already written 2 'protests' (got them from the tuftuf-site), can I get some nice pictures of my car : ). Than I've 3 pictures of my car in total...whooohoo :D.
And all those cops drive fast for themselfes, it are a bunch of weirdo freeks at the police...grrr.

( for civic 1.6 16v, got them at the avia, at adorp... and you've got new mail)

Police made a picture of me today while I was driving about 60km/h in a 30km/h zone!!!! It will cost me about 60 Euros and Iīll get 3 points in Flensburg! :( When I really have got bad luck and I drove some km/h over 60km/h my license will be gone for a month! And I didnīt even want to drive fast....

Not that good! I've heard it of a friend (1/2 german) of mine that they're very strict in germany in 30 km/h zones, that it's easy 2 lose your driving licence. Hope you've got good luck

Predator
01-17-2002, 01:22 PM
Yeah it is easy to lose it I think (duuno how its handled in other countries). Especially in the city or in such 30 or 20 zones :(

IMO, the law should be more flexible on the speed limits. I mean like when you drive a night over the highway, no cars around you, then why shouldn't you be able to drive a little bit faster then the speed limit (180kmp or something:D ). They only seem to get this in Germany. I agree that in most cases their is a need for a speed limit.

Predator
01-17-2002, 04:05 PM
The limits on the german 'Autobahn' are ok- there are enough zones where u can go as fast as u want :) . But on the other hand- in citys or on the normal streets there are several speed limits just to make money- the simply dont have any sense there and thats the thing I dont like!
If u know where those zones are- no problem but if u drive to a city uve never been before it could get really 'dangerous' [Especially for me- if I drive 20 kph too much ill loose my license and have to go back to the driving acad :(:( ]
The problem IMO here is that there are too many young people who drive like hell- for example a friend of mine who just got his license got a car (a old Renault 19) from his parents as a kind of present. One week later the car wasnt no more because this insane idiot drove with about 140(!!) in my hometown on a slippy street against a fence (what a luck for him that it was a fence). And thats the thing mostly happens here. Nearly everybody of my friends had already have on ore more accidents- im the only one whithout one:frog: . I think they should only people older than 21 allow to drive a car because these young disco fraks are killing themselfes and other like ppl eating bread!

About one or two seconds after the flash of the camera I had a look on my tach and I drove 55km/h without having stepped on the brakes! And they draw 3km/h off because of a possible uncorrectness of the camera. So Iīd need to know how fast it slowed down by itself in these one or two seconds!?

Predator
01-18-2002, 03:39 AM
I would say something between 4 kph and 7 kph slowdown per second- but im not sure. Depends on the tires and everything else- difficult to calculate!

Veetec

I got the letter for speeding today and......Iīm not going to lose my license!! The picture showed that I drove 50km/h which canīt be because like Iīve already said I had a look on my tach about one or two seconds after the flash and I still drove 55km/h. The tolerance is 3km/h (which will be substracted) so that I still drove more than 50!:D But who cares anymore now.... I just have to pay 35 Euro and thatīs it!http://www.plauder-smilies.de/beerchug.gif

nice to hear that, saves you alot of money and driving fun!
Seems your tachometer is kind of 'out of range' ? When we do a ph meeting in the future, i'll take a gps with me, you can measure it then :)

My father told me that the car brands do that on purpose so that you think youīre faster than you are in reality!

Hmmm I dont think they do it that ure believing ure faster ;) In some way thatīs true! They donīt want to fool you with that! But they might do it because otherwise you would sometimes get a nice pic from the police (just like I did) because you drove with 51 km/h through a camera in a 50 km/h area while your tach was saying that you drove 50 km/h because of a possible uncorrectness of the tach!!! (I know I wrote it a bit difficult but maybe you get my point! They donīt want to fool us but help us in some way.) So they just adjust it a bit higher to solve this problem. DO YOU GET MY FU**ING POINT???:D ;)
