Brakes Vibrate at 60+

Ive got a 1991 crx dx with spiral drilled roaters that have just been turned with a fresh set of brake pads. the car is lowered with a set of eibach pro springs and new shocks and struts. When i brake at slow speeds everything feels great, like new. no pulling or surgeing when i come to a stop which makes me think its not the roaters or pads.

It looks like it has stock bushings and they squeek like hell. could loose or deteriated bushing be the cause of this vibration? the car pulls to the left slightly also. it doesnt vibrate every tym i break at high speeds, a rough road seam to provoke it and it stops once i reach around 30. I cant afford to just start replaceing everything so i want to pinpoint the problem.

Now with the problem I am not quite sure what it could be. How long ago did you get the new break set-up, if that is even a factor. I'm sure someone around here will be able to help you.

It could very possibly be unbalanced tires/wheels. Were your tires balanced during mounting? Some places claim to balance the tires but do an extremely half-ass job.

^^^That is true, I know Josh (91lxdreamer) did this to me a number of times when he would put on my tires. lol i'm just playin with ya Josh.

Actually, I didnt do that...thought about it to be a dick, but Id kill the muhfucka who did it to me. Anyways, check to see if anything is loose. If you got tie rods or a wheel bearing loose, it could throw off the way you stop, and youll find a shimmy or a vibration when you drive or slow down. The way to check this is jack up one side, and put a hand on each side of the tire, like a steering wheel, only 9 and 3, not 10 and 2, and shake it back and forth, not too slow or youll move the whole tire/wheel assembly back and forth like youre turning the wheel. But do it briskly and firmly to see if anything is loose. If nothing is noteably loose, than have someone who is somewhat experienced come over and look at the inner and otter tie rod ends while you shake them. Then to check the wheel bearings, put your hands at 12 and 6 and shake it up and down the same way. You should have almost no movement here. If anything is noticeably loose, get your ride whatever it needs. It could be a safety issue if its loose enough. If you need help with the install, give uss a holler, we'll be here.

Make sure the discs are on straight. Sometimes crap gets behind them when installing them and it throws them off. The surfaces need to be dead clean. You should be able to feel warped rotors through the brake pedal.

Your front suspension might be getting sloppy (old). Mine is and I may have fried the brakes (again) so I'm getting some wiggle when braking at about the same speed you decribed. If I get on them hard it's not so bad. I also have a tire slightly out of balance or round (they're old) so i can feel that too at about 55-60, especially when the tires are cold.

My solution? Buy a car with bigger brakes.

You probably have a warped rotor, that's what happen to me. 9 chances out of 10, that is your problem. But if it isn't, check to make sure the pistons are fully extended and that everything is aligned properly.
