Shady engine harness wiring...need some tips..:(

Well, I think I found my problem with my rough idling/possibly runnin rich and what not. I was looking at the TDC or it was the Crank Angle Sensors on my distributor. For some reason I disconnected the harness and pulled back this black rubber sleeves that covered a part of each wire right before it went into the harness. I discovered that each wire was spliced and soldered back together, but 2 of em were really shitty jobs. So I was like, why in the hell would someone do this? Then, I decided to adjust my idle screw. As I was, I looked down at the engine harness right before it runs into the firewall. I noticed on the adapter that leads into the firewall, right after the adapter there was some more shady wiring. First I saw this, a yellow wire that was soldered to a bigger grey wire...strange huh....then I saw 2 wires red/blue i believe that were soldered together into antoher big grey wire and then I saw 3 wires, red/yellow/green soldered into another big grey wire and covered with electric tape. So ummmm....I dont think that is how it's suppose to be. The guy that owned this before me rebuilt the car. It was an R-Title. I dunno what he did to the harness though. I'm going to get pictures up asap, my batteries in my digi camera just died! But if anyone can give me any input for now that would be great....

Itz hard to identify the color of the wires, this is what I can tell so far. Theres a orange/white stripped wire that connects to a bigger grey wire, a red/blue/blue with white stripe wire that connects to a big grey wire and a yellowish/pale wire that connects to another big grey wire
