1994 Eighty Eight Intermittent Start Problem

I have a '94 Eighty Eight that has an intermittent starting problem. Sometimes the car starts just fine. Other times, I put the key in and try to start the car and nothing--no cranking, just the gauge lights and nothing else. If I jump the battery, BOOM starts right up. I replaced the battery...problem still exists. Any ideas?

I have the exact same problem. Have replaced the the key cylinder, keys and starter. Have you found the problem???

I had the same issue with my 1996 until I was told that if the battery cable connection weren't super tight, the car will do just what you are describing. I keep my cable connections and that has cleared mine up.

Cut your headlights on. try starting. if headlights fail also it's 99 percent battery positive post "dirty" problem.
Bad connection can also prevent full charge of battery while driving and poor cranking.

Disvonnect then Pour baking soda on all battery and cable connections and the bolt and battery post and bolt hole = and wet them with water.
Wash it off in a hour and do it again until you have really clean metal. WD40 the connection and bolt it back up.
