fuel system cleaners?

Has anyone used these before in your VW? I have a little hesitation once in a while with my wifes passat and thought that a bottle of techron or something similar in the fuel tank could maybe clean the fuel injectors. I have used these before on american built cars and am presently using them in my Durango, but am unsure about the affects on a VW. Thanks in advance for any input. By the way, my wife drives a 2000 Passat 1.8T with 105K. Just replaced the timing belt before any serious problem could have happened.
