Try a ground wire to the wiper motor case.

I have exactly the same problem, it started about a week after having the widshield replaced. I just leave them on auto and the wiper blades go to the horizontal position but not to the correct off position. Rememember to switch them off before entering a car wash!!!

Perhaps the wiper-linkage is misplaced or broken.

I dont think it can be the linkage, because when the rain sensor detects rain they work normal, they just stop in the middle of the windshield when the wiper switch is turned to the off position.
When the switch is turned to the off position the wiperblades go to the correct park position, they stay there for about 2 seconds then they start to wipe, and stop in the midle of the windshield on the first return stroke.

try attaching a ground wire from the battery neg to the wiper motor case. Some cars loose the park signal when the case ground is unhooked or rusted.

The wiper park switch is under the cover on the wiper motor. When you shut off the wipers it is supposed to power the motor untill the wipers reach the bottom of the wiper stroke, and depress to park. You might have a bad switch or the linkage in the motor is jamming the switch in the open position. Three little screws will take the cover off.

Listen to Jed Rule! He is right the park switch is part of the wiper motor cover which controls all functions of the wipers.

The wiper park switch is in the wiper motor housing, directly across from the motor. You must take off the cover assembly (3 screws). A pin on the wiper cam gear lever drops into a slot in the the park switch and shuts off the current to the motor at the right time.
The good book says " If wiper motor is in the park position, operate wiper motor as required to remove pawl from the relay slot".
I believe this to say that you can run the wipers with the cover off, but I never tried it. That way you could observe the pawl (pin) latch into the switch. If the mechanical linkage is working correctly you must have a bad switch.

The park switch does move when turns on, it goes back to the same position every time we turn the wipers on/off.

Let me get this straight. When you turn the wipers off, they park as normal, and then start up and go to a vertical position? If the pawl link in the wiper motor is not bent sounds like a bad park switch.

no when you turn the switch off tgo virtical, when they are on they go to the lower position but still on and when water hits the sensor they go on and stay on.

You had lost me. This thread got so long, I forgot what your original problem was. Sorry, I don't have any info on the automatic sensor wipers.

Alright basically the whinshied wipers are all messed up, thinking best opition is to replace the wipermotor, circutboard and all. unless in the switch? Gonna be spendy ither way. Should I be buying this from a salvage yard or not?

There's nothing else in the system except the switch. All the suspect parts are in the motor assembly. They should guarantee their part. See if they will demo it.
