the new v6 5-speeds can be pretty quick, but the older style Automatics, aren't anything special.

hehehehe, lets ee how long it takes for the tiburon owners to show up :)

what did the achivea SC's come with?

all depends, they either came with the v6 that was available at the time (I have a 3300 and a 3100) or the Quad DOHC HO or LO and then later the 2.4. Basically the same as the GAGT

i have a friend with a 2001 tiburon... trash! i mean, they run good and all.. but until 2002, they were only available with a 140hp 4cyl... which is good for a 4cyl.. but nothing special.. especially for the style of the car. The newly styled ones have a 2.7(i think) V6, and even the GT only pumps out 170hp.. which isn't much considering my 93 grand am has 160.

This wanking V6 tiburon cut me off but ended up turing into the same 2 lane street I was going to. I own a stock 2001 GAGT1 and had a full tank of gas and 2 freinds in the car; I still owned his ass 2 times before I had to leave that street.

The newer tiburons have 170 hp and a 0-60mph time of 7 seconds in a automatic. Thats a quick car!

i think its pretty pathetic a 2004 Tiburon has 170hp, and an 1987 Buick LeSabre has 165.. what is that about...

my friend has a 92 Chevy Lumina 3.1L V6 auto, and i have a 95 2.3L GA SE 5 spd. We raced down the highway, nothing real serious, but i kicked his ass in the short run, but lost in the end. Ah the plight of the manual vs auto. Either way, it was fun.

Today I was driving home and a grand am se v6 same model as mine kept tryin to play. He followed behind me and id step on it to 100 hed eventually catch up so i inched to 110 and he started fallen back then i nailed it to 125 left him way back and slowed down to let him catch up. We did this for 20 miles till i got to town. He says he seen my car in the forums and wanted to see if it was what I been sayin it was. Well I gave him a tour of my goodies. Im thinkin maybe if theres enough of us Grand Am owners who wanna race we should hook up at the track for a day it will be a blast! Alberta Canada Edmonton Area

holla to the 95 GA SE, 2.3L, 5 spd...i got one too and they do get up decently quick. Its my first car and ive had it for about 2 and a half yrs and i absolutely LOVE it. Ive never had any problems even dispite the insane amount of mileage ive put on it. I bought it with 90k and it now has 148k..(job makes me drive a lot). Ive tried to race a few times with only one horrible match up which was a camaro Z-28..dont ask why cuz i dont even know but there comes a time in every young mans life when he thinks he can beat any car on the street...that one was a bit of a wake up call haha

I havent ever beat a z-28 v8 camaro , but I did beat a 1980 4.9 turbo trans am on 1/4 mile by 2 seconds. Beat a few v8 stangs 5.0's seriously won some lost some tried to race newer gt's(mustangs) and its pretty close and i am starting to beat them but not often enough. Usually dont have trouble with the little kit cars and tuners but have gotten beat a few times by some. I lost to tuned cav v6 over a year ago and vowed vengance , it was mine last month when i finally ran across the cav again. My goal is to keep up with a camaro z28 on 1/4 mile still naturally aspirated, not an easy task so far not enough cubic inches not enough hp to wieght ratio. How can i keep it N/A and still keep up with that car? I guess I will have to resort to MONEY. Unless you all have better ideas.

Drop out the LA1 (3400) and drop in either an L67 (series 2, 240hp) or the L32 (series 3, 260hp) 3800 supercharged engine :naughty:

Ok , my goal is to make the la1 more powerful , not gonna put different engine in till this one blows , then ill be building up a 400ci NHRA longblock and makin it rwd. But for now the la1 is my toy to bust. I dont usually mention this but i also use dry spray(not too proud) when I go to the track , but im not stupid ive been using it for almost 6 months and its a nice way to provide extra cfm's and burst of power is smooth at full throttle. I believe its safe even to use multiple times weekly but cooks plugs quickly.
