Exhaust question...

On my JDM h22, would it be wise to run 2.5" piping from a high flo cat to a stock looking performance muffler. I've always wanted to keep my car looking sleeper-ish, and I DO NOT want a jap can in the back of my car...I hate them with a passion.
P.S. - Has anyone heard anything about Chikara Tork-Step headers? I know there's 1 header on a 4-banger so don't criticize "HEADERS"!

There's really no need to run 2.5" piping unless you're boosting. 2.25" works just fine.

I dont see anything wrong with the setup ur saying, sounds good as for 2.5 and 2.25, out of personal expierence and what i've seen 2.5 isnt bad just dont go higher then 2.5 if ur going NA.

Chikara is made by Hedman, which have been known to be pretty good for the V8 crowd. I don't see why they wouldn't be good.
I know nothing about the "tork-step" though.

Well, it's a bad generalization to just say a certain diameter is good for all NA or FI applications.
It's primarily the level you're at; a high powered NA could need as large exhaust as a turbocharged Prelude. At lower levels, 2.25" is fine. Remember that it's exhaust velocity you're after, and not backpressure. If your exhaust gases were traveling as fast in a 2.25" as a 3", you'd definitely want to get the larger pipe. But it doesn't. And balance is the key.

My info was based purely on what he said and his current situtation, I do agree with you, I just feel you have to have a little more emphasis on backpressure its often overlooked.

Yeah, that's cool man. I was just saying that to point out that diameter size doesn't remain stagnant just because it's NA or FI. And that it's actually a myth that you need backpressure.
