Does anyone know about the quality of the ARII auto kits? They have some interesting subjects, (Chaparral, GT40, early porcheses) but since they're priced in the mid US$20 I don't want to buy one if they make crap. Thanks.

I recently bought the ARII Celica RE40 and the body shell is pretty good, but those kits are made to be motorized so on the Celica, there was a compartment for the motor and they have reduced the interior detail.

I was able to look at those kits at my LHS. From what I remeber the kits are very simple. Very low part count and no engines (although the some engine detail may be molded to the chassis). Owner of the shop said the build up nicely, though. I've yet to see one built so I can't confirm of deny. While iteresting they weren't a "must have", so IMO they weren't worth the price.

I've heard that their Muscle car and Corvette series are somewhat disproportionate. So maybe stay away from them.

The '74 Trans Am seems more like 1/22nd or /23rd scale to me.:)

The Porsche Carrera 6 is crap. Minimal detail, not close to being properly proportioned. Based on this and the other posts, I'd stay away.

Thanks for the info. Based on the feedback, I think I'll stay away.
