NO reverse on '90 cavalier

Does anyone know why the reverse on my '90 cavalier 2.2L, (auto trans)
would just stop working? it seems like it just isnt grabbing and all other gears seem to work (shift) fine. If so is there any such repair that can be made without replacing trans?

you might be lucky and only need the band ajusted, but you probably need a new tranny. alot of tranny places will check it out free (if you can get it there). who needs reverse anyway. lol

a misadjusted band would not cause a no reverse problem. Probably the only cause would be a welded reverse clutch pack
