Hello, I am a newbie to this site. I have read many forums on this subject but I wanted to see what kind of responds I get. I was lucky to get a partial sponsorship for a engine swap. I am being offered a B18C1 or a B18C5 for my '97 civic. My question is which engine should I take because with the engine the company is will thing to throw in a turbo kit. Which kit works best with what engine to give me the best preformance. Also I wanted to know what exact do I need to do to get the max hp out of the engine. Thanks for the help.
P.S.
I keep reading and hearing about double clutching when racing and N/A mean, what do they mean?

Well like its been said in other posts....if you are willing to dish out absurd amounts of money, then go for the c5 if its being given to you. Take it to a place that really knows how to tune it and you will get the most power out of the c5. The other side to this argument is the fact that alot of the ITR parts that make this the ITR engine will have to be replaced to obtain a lower compression, but ultimately if the c5 is done up RIGHT (which will not be cheap) then that is where you will get the most power. If you are not willing to spend all this money, then go for the c1 which has lower compression then the c5, but this will still need to be lowered for boosting.

Jszy is assuming yer gonna boost either engine that yer swapping in there.....and he's right....it's gonna get expensive to set the C5 up for boost....i think the C5 is better for all motor.....turbo the C1 for relatively cheaper and yer set.....mc
BTW....how did you get a sponsorship for an engine swap?

You don't have to replace anything on a C5 to boost it, just get a REALLY good EMS, like Hondata, and find someone that knows what they are doing to tune it.
