'93 S-10 Blazer stalling:Need Help

I have had a stalling/Idling problem for about 2 weeks now. It's got the 4.3 Vortec engine "W" code. It will run fine for hours sometimes, but a majority of the time the engine starts to die out and shakes before it dies. When I turn it over the engine starts right back up. Give it 30 seconds and the engine will shake and die again. It's sounds like it's trying to stay running but eventually will just quit.

Within the last 30 days I've had the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel injector assembly, fuel lines, upper intake gasket and PCV valve all replaced which cost me well over $1000. I've cleaned all the rotors in the distributor cap and air dried it. Made sure all the spark plug wires were correct. This dying out problem started happening the day I got the oil changed and also cleaned off the eninge with a product called "Gunk" and then rinsed it off with a light stream of water. I figured if it was a problem with getting something wet 2 weeks should be enough time for it to dry. I also traced all the vaccum lines to make sure they were tight. The "check engine light doesn't ever come on either. Every once in a while when it's not running good there will be an excess amount of light colored smoke that comes puffing out of the tailpipe.

I have exhausted all resources I know. Could it possibly be a clogged hose somewhere? Or possibly a carbon-clogged EGR valve? I took it to the local GM dealership and they didn't get any codes from their scanner so I figured if it was an EGR valve problem it would've told them. Any advice would be appreciated. HELP!!!

4.3's have had lots of problems with the egr getting clogged and not closing all the way. try removing it and cleanig out the passages. spraying water on an engine almost always creates problems try unplugging all the electrical connections and blowing them out with compressed air. i had a similar problem with my truck the tps had a hole in it and water totaly destroyed it. could also me a bad spark plug wire i would go ahead and change the wires/plugs& cap& rotor. good luck

Well my local GM dealership has told me they finally figured out the problem: A bad ignition module and a faulty PCM, which I guess is the computer of the blazer. I don't know crap about that but I really hope this fixes it...for $608.74!

Sorry to hear about ur truck man! Mine is acting the same way. We are in the process of doing new wires, plugs, cap and rotor. What is a PCM? I have a 95 S10 with the Vortec V6. Im thinking it could be the same problem as you've had. Best of luck to Ya.
