2002 Jetta GLS 1.8

Is this a good car to get? Is it a fast car from the start? Will all 2001 Jetta mods be made for the 2002? And im pretty saddended of how many of my friends say this is a girls car! One main reason for this car is because of what I see on this site http://www.goapr.com/products/stage3_trans.html, is this for real, does anyone have this and find it to actually get 310 horse power (coming soon for the Jetta, but already on the market for the Passat, so I guess im asking if it works on the Passat). Will there be more body kits over the year do you guys think? Thanks a lot for the info.

I would HIGHLY recommend against the 1.8T. I have babied mine since day one and the check engine light comes on everyother month costing me about $400.00. I have an extended warranty (thank the lord) but it is just a nuiscance. Perhaps the V-6 is a better engine but this is the first and last VW I will buy.

the 02 is the better one to buy, the previous model had only 150 hp getting 130 to the wheels and this one has 180 hp with 170 to the wheels, as far as getting apr dont, go with neuspeed instead, they are dynoproven and have warrenties on their stuff. The V-6 IS NOT A BETTER ENGINE! There are less parts for it and are too much of a hassle to deal with

The VR6 has more HP to start with, and can eventually have more in the end. The downside is that the performance parts are a bit more expensive. The engine in most VW's are as reliable as the next, but it does seem the TDI lasts a bit longer with a 5 speed. As for what is better... that's like asking about vanilla or chocolate, apples and bananas... find the one that suits you best and go for it without apology

the vr6 has more horsepower to the FLY yes, but to the Wheels it has less then the 1.8t, as for it being faster in the end, it is not alsways true and plus if you make it that fast you will spend alot more money then a fully done up 1.8 because it is already turbo ready and considered a tuners car. It would be cheaper to put in a bigger turbo and change the internals as well as making sure the fuel mixture is properly done. Sure there is a bit more to it but the vr6 has more to due with preparing the engine for the turbo as well as buying a tubo kit which will run you about 3-4k, you could also supercharge it but the price will be the same as well.
