hii i JUST bought a 2004 CIVIC EX in MAGNESIUM METALLIC =D and i was wondering if anyone knew about parts for the car and what parts are out for the 2004 and what not. oh and another thing i wanted to get a full cat back exhaust system for my car.. but i saw that the 04 had this "3way catalytic converter on the exhaust system"... :uhoh: and.. i was just curious if getting a new exhaust system would affect the car in any negative ways.. and could people tell me what parts from what companies are the best for the 04 civic EX?? thanks alot

when lookin for parts they should fall under either 01+ and sometimes i noticed some companies forget to change there years and it still says 2001-2003 instead of 2001-2004...but yeah.. welcome to AF and the 2001+ civic generation... i got a full exhaust system on mine from headers all the way back to the dual exhaust... CIA... there are quite a few stuff already out.. if you cant find it just us know.. one of might be ablt to find it

congrats on the car, in my opinion, the new 2004 models look nicer than the previous 01-03.

Alright here is the deal I bought my exaust last week Invidia one of the top brands when compared... full stianless so I installed it myself everything wen smooth the hangers matched and I impacted the bolts on..then i drive for a bit and gun it to red line and i hear this banging noise..well it seems to be the first bend of the new pipe out of the cat is about 1/4 inch away from the sheet metal under the car and bangs ....now i had a post about this last week as some of you kno...and this seems to be a problem with after market exausts on the 01-04..meineke cant fic it cause u cant weld on stainless steel unless u use a tig? weld i think its called whihc cost alot..the resolution they came up with was get a new cat and when you install it re-weld the brackets over about a half inch so the pipe is pulled away from the frame of the car..i will be doing this in about 2 weeks..for the time being a wrapped my exhaust where it hits the frame with header wrap and it seemd to muffle the sound greatly..but its still annoying..just find out the diameter of the after market piping of the exhaust...becase u will run into this problem..

haha... it seems that everyone is having the same problems i had when i got a custom exhaust system put in... and it also seems that the 01+ civics engine vibrates more when you upgrade with thigns such as i/h/e... for me what they did was that i got the motor mounts changed and that costed me $200+.... now the vibrations are a thing of the past

I got my 2003 late last year. I have the tail lights of the 2004 but front end of 2003. What does that make my year model? 2003 and a half? :icon16: :evillol:

It wasnt a mod, I bought it that way. With the 2004 tail lights. Some of the late 2003 Civics had the 2004 tail lights.
Anyways, no plans to mod it yet. And I wana keep it clean...More of the sleeper type.

Thats why I said 2003 and a half. :icon16: I like the way the tail lights look though. Better than Altezza IMO.

actually the difference between the '03 and '04 is in the tailights, front grill, and the headlights are the most dramatic change.

to tell you the truth i dont know what mounts they are.. i went to the import shop and they changed it out to these new mountes that look like pure black as oppsoed to the orignials which were faded... but the new ones looks like it had more rubber to it though.. it costed me $100 for the mounts and $50 to change it out
