Has the gym become your second home>
then youve heard all to often that it is important to take a lot of protien. WHat brand of bars or shakes or other clever solutions supplement your protien intake. Im just trying to get a feel for what some of the better tasting products are out there. Ive tried 3 brands and just stuck with the one that tasted the least vile--nitrotech 35g per bar 290 calories --smores sensation<---lol

i buy the cheap bars from walmart. the shakes i take actually taste good, believe it or not. big surprise: GNC 100% whey protein chocolate. i go through the 6lb buckets once a month.
-one thing my diet is missing is eggs. this is one thing i have been wanting to add for a while.

I don't eat any bars but i do use EAS Whey protein shakes and they taste amazing in milk. All the other brands i've tasted so far have made me wanna puke but EAS has been pretty good so far. Of course its good to cycle what kinda proteins you use instead of just using one all the time since different protein brands have different qualities like for example some have bcaa's and others have other things in em... if that makes sense :p Also, if you want a good source of protein just eat tuna, its got 30 grams of protein and 0 grams of fat per 100grams. Add a bit of lemon and pepper and its not too bad :p

hope i've helped.

zero grams of fat--hehe--i like my tuna in oil but ill try the lemon pepper thing. I do drain the oil before i eat it.
One of my goals is to gain muscle and body weight. If i have to gain some fat while i do it thats ok with me.

Muscle Milk from Cytosport is probably the best tasting protein mixes I've ever had. Mixed with lowfat milk or water, it tastes great. Also, I've been drinking a lot of N-Large2, from Prolab. Doesn't taste the greatest by itself, so I do this: 16 oz. lowfat milk, 2 scoops vanilla N-Large2, half a banana, a tablespoon of peanut butter, and 10g of unflavored creatine. Tastes really good, my son is constantly stealing sips of it.

As for bars, I love the Mesotech chocolate peanut butter bars. Soft and chewy, and they don't taste like a protein bar at all. I also like the Met-Rx chocolate chip cookie dough bars, they actually taste like cookie dough.

Lemon pepper tuna f*cking rocks!!!

I was on some stuff for a while, I still have it, but haven't found anything I really liked. sideshowrich, i'm going to look into the stuff you mentioned, it sounds awesome. I also had some 'Odyssey' protein bars, they tasted awesome and provided decent protein. Ran out though.

As for the Tuna, it's become my new best friend over the last few months. I think with Flax Bread, and a slice of cheese, it's almost 44g or so of protein, I have two/day.

www.planetdepot.com (http://www.planetdepot.com) is where I usually get the Muscle Milk and the N-Large2, best prices I've seen. Also, try www.easypricematch.com (http://www.easypricematch.com), they will beat competitor prices by 5%, and shipping is pretty cheap as well.

Edit: The price of Muscle Milk on easypricematch is lower, but they will beat planetdepot's price on the N-Large2.

I as well use the EAS shakes and have used the protein bars (detour). Eggs are supposed to be the best source possible, after eating a dozen egg whites your friends and girlfriend will dissown you due to the horrible gas they give you, I eat about 3 cans of albacore Tuna a day and drink about 5-7 24oz bottles of water, it seems to work for me.

I also got my hands on a good supply of ensure plus which is made with soy and has a complete days value of vitamins and minerals and a good source of soy protein 14 grams i believe, I have been lifting regulary since high school but over the last year started being more dedicated to it, watching what I eat and sticking to my schedual. I am 6'1 21 years old, since then I have gone from 192lb to 209lb but I eat like a maniac... I plan to start jogging on my off days again and will probably lose about 7-8lbs but I feel better and stronger than ever. Chicken breast and Tuna are the biggest part of my diet, well enough about me.
