yes, i know this question is about a ford, but i trust all your opinions on this forum. (i personally own a 95 burb and use this forum a lot. the van is a church van)

this is about an 83 ford van, about 120k miles, has been sitting for over a year. it has the 351 engine in it.

i got it running, but with one problem. it overheats. i put coolant in, but you can hear it pressurizing the system. (if you run it with the cap off the radiator, all the collant spills out and the van gets hot pretty quick.) i took off the top and bottom hoses to the radiator. its not clogged, water runs right though it. i took the thermostat off the block, and tried to get water to flow through the top of the block and run down and out the water pump. no luck, i cant get any water to flow through the engine. any suggestions?? what could be wrong? im sure this could happen to any vehicle really, so hence why i figured someone here could shed some light. thanks in advance for any help....
