hey.. i have a '96 WS6 trans am and i want a racing cam/heads. is this unsafe to do on a stock engine? are there any modifications that i should do first to better accomodate the cam/heads so my engine doesnt blow up or some other catastrophic event doesnt occur?
so far heres what i have done...
-flowmaster muffler
-BBK headers
-3" Ypipe
-highflow cat
-K&N
-Genetelli mass airflow sensor
-BBK throttle body
....do i need to have my transmission rebuilt before i do anything drastic (my car is an automatic)? do i need a stronger torque arm & drive shaft? ive heard that theres a ton of modifications that NEED to be done before my car would be ready for this but nobody is sure exactly what... any suggestions??

You would see alot more from your mods if you tune up your tranny with a Transgo shift kit and corvette servo, but the weakest link in getting the power to the rear wheels in without a doubt the 7.5 10 bolt rear. I would also use synthetic fluid in the tranny in you decide to do the shift kit and redline gear fluid in the rear wouldn't hurt either.
