95 Intrepid Radiator Fan woes!!!!!

Help!!! I'm at my wits end with this problem. I have a 1995 Dodge Intrepid, 3.3L, and last summer the left radiator fan stopped working. Or,at least it only worked sporadically and then stopped all together. The right one kept working fine, but during
the summer one fan wasn't enough to cool the radiator with the A/C
running. In Vegas 110 degrees with the A/C blasting was too much for one radiator fan.
I brought it to my mechanic and he replaced the left fan. It worked for a
day or two, then again stopped working. I lived with that for a while
since summner was over and one fan cooled the engine enough for regular driving. Then, both fans decided to go out. He said the computer had all kinds of codes about the fan problems and finally talked me into getting an entirely new fan shroud with new motors.
So, reluctantly, at his request, I bit the bullet and replaced the entire
fan shroud and both fans ($175 lost on the new fan I bought). $681 later it worked perfectly, for two days. Today I noticed the temp creeping up on a hot day here in VEgas with the A/C on. It didn't overheat, but it got up around half way (on my car that is running a bit hot). I popped the hood and the LEFT fan wasn't working again. The right was was running on high, but nothign with the left. It's doing exactly what it did last summer.
I'm about to pull the rest of my hair out. Any ideas as to what the hell
is going on with my fans?
Thanks.
Mike

Check the fan temperature sensor switch. Fans come on at different temperatures and a/c use. So the fans might not be the cause of overheating.
Is your radiator in good condition, last time coolant changed? when was the last time the thermostat was changed?
he should have tested the fan motor before replacing to make sure it was the problem. you don't need new fanshrouds, unless they were physically damaged, if they were okay, no cracks, you could have reused them.
i suggest you find a better mechanic and tell them your story.

Fan relays and the plugs to the fans need to be checked, along with the all the temp sensors. If the plugs are damaged (melted, corroded, burned) then the relays probably aren't in any better shape. the relays are fairly cheap, and I'd just replace them anyway. The plugs are fairly cheap, but not easy to replace. If you don't know how to make a connection properly, or just can't do it, keep in mind that most average shop technicians are allergic to electrical work and insist on using crimped connections, which will fail again. So do it yourself, or find a freind who knows how to solder wiring, (not twist or crimp!) before you replace those plugs!
