Radiator Probs (pix)

My boy Mike(90civicracer) got to my house today to play some ball, and when we took a short ride around my block everything was fine, temp gauge alright, but when we got back, we got out, everything seemingly fine, but all was not well. There was a hissing and he was leakin antifreeze bad. We popped the hood and checked it out...and lookie what we found...

Nothin much else to really say that he hasn't said. We got out of the car and started shooting some hoops and about 5 minutes later i looked over and all this antifreeze was leaking outta my car. It was coming out in one small pin-sized hole. Filled it up some more and drove it home.

I'm going to get a radiator tomorrow and its getting installed tomorrow evening. 135K miles on the stock one, finally needed a new one...shit happens.

Maybe with this many replies and views people will want to post and wish me good luck on the new radiator and that no other problems will happen with it and the install. Just maybe, who knows though.

i had to replace my radiator too, those plastic ones aren't worth anything, try to get a metal one for the new one.

Mine broke in almost the same way, a few days after I bought my car. (D'oh!) It was a simple fix. I agree with Jay... Try to get a metal one.

i bought my car with the rad problem, took the guy down like 400 bucks cause of it. cost me 200 (cnd) for a metal one and like 3 hours of work, just cause it was one of the first times i ever worked on a car. good times

F*ck radiators, who needs them. 2nd day my radiator has been in and i just get back to school from lunch and get out of my car and ill give you 3 guesses as to what was leaking, but I bet you'll only need one.

Yeop thats right, damn anti-freeze. Got it home and checked it out and I dont think its the radiator itself because the leak is coming from somewhere in the middle area of the engine bay, maybe even right behind the block. Anyone know what it could be?

Cracked or worn hoses? Didn't re-tighten them up enough? Or at all? ;)

I'm thinkin cracked or worn hoses cuz I talked to the guy who put it in and he didn't take off any of the hoses where its leaking.

And I won't be leaving the 4g family anytime soon. Before I get a different car I need to get a job and start saving money and then sell my car to get a new one. Realisticly it won't be for a long while, unless we win the lotto or something.

But then again if we won the lotto i'd keep this and just have other cars, so either way I'll prolly have it for a while longer.

It was only a cracked hose, got it fixed that night....just haven't been able to post about it since AF was down.
