temp guage says it overheating

i have a 95 240 and when my car is idiling and the stereo is up and i am prob pushing 1000 watts with 4 guage wire and 100 amp fuse my temp guage starts to say that it is overheating but soon as i start to move it will go down and this only happens when my stereo is up i dont know if it could be that is using so much power and i strike cap might help if anyone has had this problem please post

you should replace it just to be on the safe side

Check your clutch fan, my car did the exact same thing

yea my car used to overheat..but then u kick it up to about 100 on the highway and it would cool back down. My problem was the headgasket though. I had about 800 watts kicken at 1 ohm with the same guage wire. Didnt u have to get a second battery to power it???my car died every time with the stock battery. But i dont think a system would overheat your car atleast i have never heard that.

No all i had to do was get a better ground because my car would shut off too when i turned it up i dident know if a system could draw too much current from the battery to give some of the other electronics power to operate
