98 C3500 Speed Sensor Broken

Need help please. Was changing the rotor and broke the speed sensor connection. Can anyone give me some direction regarding how to repair! Can't find where the speed sensor wire goes to? The wire actually pulled right out of the connector. Obviously, the connector needs lots of tlc to get out of there. What will happen if I don't repair it?
