i am dissapointed with my car stereo as of right now. all pioneer, [i know, i know]. knowing what i know now and trying to not make the same mistake twice, with your help i intend on improving myself. i was looking into the infinity kappa series. with my 99 toyota camry having 6-1/2" in the front i was looking at the 60.5 component system. the mounting of the tweeter is the only part that scares me, although i've heard it is well worth it, if you do it right.
for the rear, i was looking at the 693.5i for the 6x9s. or there is the option of leaving out the rear speakers and just getting subs, though i've never seen that done nor know if its a good idea or not.
that infinity kappa, which i've read some fairly decent reviews on would be around $250, via ebay unless you know of a better product line or dealer. under $300 is basically my price range, not including an amp for these speakers we'll cross that bridge when we get there, any thoughts...
thanks again for your continued help throughout this

and don't get kappas, they're a waste of money, I went through it myself so I'm speaking from experience. Do you have an amp? Those Focals would REALLY need to be amped, they love power.

i don't have an amp but would be willing to purchase one. whose 6.5" components look very nice, but what would you recommend for an amp. also for the rear deck, leave the holes there and only have subs? then which sub and which amp? totally willing to try new things as long as this setup will last awhile. thanks again, michael

amps I would look at avionixx or JBL. Subs, I would look at RE or ED. I would leave the holes there and put a 12 in the trunk

for the components you could probably get some pretty nice MB Quarts. i found a great price at http://www.discountave.net although i got the 5.25's not the 6.5's or i would suggest getting some cdt from http://www.thezeb.com they have a nice price on the cdt classic 6.5's of only 149. that is what i would suggest.

I am not a big MB quart fan, the highs seem unbearable to me at times

the Q-series doesn't sound too bad with the attenuation (on the xover) set to the lowest (-6db i believe)
