88 Ford Ranger won't START AT ALL!!!

We have fuel, ignition, timing has not jumped, checked all usual ignition problems. Hasn't starting since replaced the fuel pump. The new fuel pump is working, but it still doesn't start. disconnected fuel pump relay-sprayed starting fluid in it --and it didn't do anything, but turn over. distributer has been replaced.

what engine is it? i would suspect bad injectors, possibly. Where do you have fuel, is it at the filter? You may also have a bad fuel filter, could have become clogged when you changed the pump. Just some suggestions.
