Fog Light Installation

I just bought some OEM Fog Lights. But to install them I need to remove the bumber and all the interior panels and so on. Is this going to be something better to get done somewhere? Or will I be able to do this alright? I need your ideas and suggestions! (1995 Accord EX)

I have a 96 accord EX, and I'm fixing to put driving lights on mine (just cuz i dont like the yellow on there) and if you jack your car up then you should be able to get behind the bumper to mount them, the only thing, u have to go through the firewall deal, so it is possible that you will have to drill a hole, if you want a switch inside, (which i have my switches mounted under the cd player, a couple bucks from ur local walmart) and I have my interior lights wired to my cigarette lighter, you have to have atleast your parking lights on for it to work, but why would you want the others on without them anyway? i don't have foglights installed on my accord, it's a 97 lx, but i know for the oem foglights, above where the radio deck is, there is the hazard light button, and then next to that is a blank button. that is where the foglight button WOULD be for oem. i think that 95 is the same, but i'm not sure. if all else fails, i would bring it to the dealer to get done but they might charge a lot, but i'd rather pay that then mess up the car myself and have to pay to get whatever fixed, unless you are good with that kind of work. good luck though. where did you get your oem foglights at?

I have an 97 LX and installed aftermarket fog/driving lights. It is quite simple. If you get up under the dash below the steering wheel there is a rubber boot through the firewall... it is up kinda high to the left (from inside the car) of the brake pedal. I ran my wires through there. My lights came with a small switch to I just mounted it on the panel where the dimmer is for the interior lights... the wire comes through between the panel below the wheel and instrument panel. Only about 1/8 of an inch or slightly less of the wire is exposed... the switch is mounted with the double sided tape that it came with.

Anyway, certainly do it yourself. It is such an easy job you'll hate paying someone else to do it. I did it in less than an hour.

ya it's true that aftermarket are easier to install, by yourself of, and you can always get a remote also then you wouldn't have to worry about putting a button somewhere. i preferably would go with OEM because they are just made to fit on the car just right. but that's just me :) but, if did get aftermarket, i'd install them myself also. but, i think that for those people that don't ever do any kind of work with wiring and whatnot, it'd be best to bring it somewhere instead. *just my 2 cents * ^_^

Yeah mine has that oem switch that fits exactly like the hazard light button. It is a real nice kit that I bought on procarparts.com I first saw them on ebay but they sold out and I had to pay the full price on the site. But they are good quality, glass lenses and metal casings, real heavy and solid. But I am worried about taking off the bumper for one, and then taking apart the inside to get the wires for the button up into the right place. I think I am going to have them installed by my local mechanic.

Anyway, I got them off of ProCarParts.com for $90.00. I am pretty happy, but the install seems fairly overwhelming.

I had a mechanic say he would do it after hours for $70 an hour but he doesn't know how long it will take because he has never done this before. I am skeptical for several reasons. But $70 dollars an hour... how does that sound?

i'd say $70 sounds about average, but i guess that depends on where you live also. i live in alaska, so if i wanted to get the actual OEM foglights, the dealer said it would be almost $700, for the lights, shipping, and installation of them. *i said HELL NO*. but yours sound like you bought them for a pretty good price. is the lense clear or blue? i thought about aftermarket foglights, but didnt' want blue or yellow lenses. good luck though with it all. :)

They Have Clear Lenses! Yeah I was thrilled to find that they are straight up clear. They are straight up OEM. I am taking them to be installed this week. I"ll let you guys know how they work out.
