Mirror Temp Readout

I'm pretty sure the '97 1500 LT's came with a temp readout in the mirror as every time I start mine the mirror read out shows F and C as well as the compass. The compass works like a champ but no temp read out. Is this a bad sensor... or is chevy just having fun with my head.

The mirror you have probably says Mirror or Auto on one button and Comp or Compass on the other. This type of mirror only has the compass feature. A comp/temp mirror will have suprisingly enough, comp on one button and temp on the other. The display is the same on each type of mirror which is why you see C and F even if you don't have temperature.
