Which car is faster?

A 98 camaro SS with exhaust and a manual tranny or a stock 94 corvette with an auto? 2 guys at work were getting into an arguement on whose car is faster.I driven both cars and both cars were fast.Which one do you think is faster?

i'd say camaro. but i've never driven either one. the vette would probly be more consistant.

98 SS is LS1 V8
94 Vette is LT1 V8

Probably the Camaro.

Well I know that in 97 the Camaro SS beat the vette that year, and they where still using the LT1 I believe. But in 98 they switched to the LS1 wich produced something like 50 more hp give or take. So I think the 98 SS would take the 94 vette hands down.

the only 97 camaro that would beat a 97 vette would be the ultra rare LT4 SS Camaro's. SLP made a handful of them, when GM sold them a few remaining LT4 cratemotors left over from the 1996 Vette GrandSport run. SLP also made a couple of LT4 Firehawks (drool.)

anyways, I still doubt an LT4 camaro would do much damage to an LS1 vette, unless the vette was an automatic with a horrible driver.

but back to the original subject. I say the Camaro
When my 98 Z28 was almost stock (only had exhaust and an intake lid) I beat a late LT1 C4 vette. He seemed stock and was an auto.

camaro hands down so long as the two are stock.

What do you think the 2 cars will run in the 1/4 mile?the camaro and the vette.

Id definitely say the camaro would win. As far as 1/4 mile times.. id guess the Camaro would run somewhere in the neighborhood of 13.6-13.8 if it was stock, and id put the Vette around 14.1. It would be a pretty good race, but the maro would get him.

Drivers aside, I think the camaro would win..
But If the maro doesnt have a good driver I could see it losing easily
