ok am wanting to get a small pu that is running!!! for around 500 cnd around 300 us i think? what are some opions i have?
should i buy a wreck (writeoff) and fix it up (uncle works at bodyshop and dad works for dealership so ok for parts and labour) or should i buy running?
looking for before 1990 but wanting feul injection (did they make it before 1990?) and want a standerd trans (automatic pu's are crappy!) and want somthing that i can strap on a bit wide rubber out back (like another 3-4 inch over stock)

look for a late 87 chevy 1/2 ton 2wd, they had TBI 350s in them, and you could get them with a 4 speed. Old body style, new injection setup. Very nice, but tough to find.
Ford 1/2 tons in 87 to 90 were relatively ugly, but were fuelies. and standards were easy to find.
good luck on the search.

I agree with pind, the Ford 87 and up with the 5.0 and 5 speed were a good choice.

I have a 89 F150 Fuel injected 5.0L 5 Speed and its still running strong. They are a good truck. I'm running stock tyres and there is enough room to stick wider tyres. Also another thing they are pretty simple to work on. If you found a wrecked one there wouldn't be much of a hassle trying to get it back running.
