Dont know first hand cause im not from around there. But here are my words of advice. Go into the shop and check it out. Make sure it does not look like a dump and all. talk to the Owner/Manager and ask him how long hes been doing this sort of work. Basicly ask questions. and if you are comparing prices just ask them for a quote on something and then just check online or PM me and I will find you a better price and ship it to you.

Just from experiences friends of mine have had from ther, I wouldn't go there.... They seem to pick and chose the quality they do, and who gets it. They had to respray my friend's Integra 3 times before they got it all to match.

They used to be really good. Then they got all cocky with their image and started charging people up the wazoo. Then later, the quality started slipping, but the high price still stayed. Its really iffy. If you have connections to them, then they'll do a good job at a good price. If you dont, and are just a walk in customer... you're just rolling the dice.... but you might end up with someting good though.
I visited them once, and they over charged me for something custom... and it was actually twice the price that they once did it at.

Hey what's up? I haven't heard many bad things about them but I can see what Silverbolt is saying. They are one of the main shops out there "in the scene" and they've done numerous cars that have been featured in magazines. That should say something about them, but at the same time, I'd be afraid that like Silverbolt said, you have to have connections. I was just there a couple months ago and got an estimate for my car and it was about $7,700. The owner, Tony, showed me around and he was really friendly very enthusiastic about working on the car, but that's a lot of money. If I go back to LA, I'll probably go to Auto Explosion. You can check them out...www.thebombshop.com. They've done a lot of the nicest show cars in Cali too. I'd definitely check out JT though. I've been there probably 5 times just to check stuff out and they've always had a lot of crazy show cars there.

Thing about them is, I the person I knew that had her car have crappy service done to it there HAD hookups with them and the owner, Tony. Even hookups won't get you the best of service. He even repainted part of her car to fix a bad respray job that the shop did originally, entered her car into a show down here, and expected to have her show it off with the crappy ass respray. She denied him, and said she wouldn't show till he fixed it RIGHT. Crazyness.

www.autoexplosion.net it's the same as the other link I gave you for thebombshop. They're in Gardena. You can also try J&S Extreme in Covina...MOBWorks is in Orange. I don't know if they're still doing conversions, but 20/20 autobody.
Assuming these pics will work here's a couple cars that Auto Explosion has done. The owner of the Prelude actually works there.
