Hey guys, i own a black 98 civic dx coupe and it has 40,000 miles on it. It is a manual and has 10% tint and stock cd player. How much would you buy this car for? I was wondering what price i could start it off at. Also ...if i do sell it i might buy a del sol. will a turbo that is fit for a dx civic also fit in the del sol if they have the same engine? How bout the ic plumbing? Just wanted to know what i could price my car at and what parts i could switch from car to car.(del sol) :screwy:

you have pretty low mileage. I'd start at around 6-8k

6000. 7000 tops, theres no way your car is worth 9

I'd say $7,500 is reasonable..

According to the Kelly Blue Book, your car has a Pirvate Party re-sale value of $7,245, so GScivic7 and defmusik were both pretty close in what they'd sell it for.

Depending on interior and exterior condition also. If Im not mistaken, if it was serviced at a dealer its whole life, it would bump the price up a bit...I think.

www.kbb.com would be a place to see estimates.

there are other sites kinda like kbb except I cant remember the names now. the reason Im saying is because hondas and other manufacturers like toyota normally sell a little higher due to their reliability history, you might want to look around or just go on to autotrader.com and see what other private sellers are asking for them with similar mileage etc. my :2cents:

normally sell a little higher
"little" being the key word. Dude, who wants a 106hp optionless econobox for more than 7 grand? You can buy way nicer cars for that.

i got my 97 EX almost a year ago for $7,000, but it had 60k miles...not bad even with the aftermarket alarm and exhaust, and the 6 disc changer...blah blah

btw, is the cd changer stock with the EX model?

I think I got jacked, I payed 11k(out the door) for my 99 EX - 60k miles / 2 year bumper to bumper - :-(

I think thats too expensive. I got my 2003 Civic LX brand new for like $13,700. You couldve gotten a newer car with lower mileage with that kinda money you paid for.

The other pricing site for pricing cars besides Kelly Blue Book is Edumonds. You can check them out too, go with whichever price guide gives the highest value.

Or you could also base prices off Auto Trader from private parties. There are some good deals sometimes.

xproductionz

when we compared my and my friends DX and LX coupe side by side the only difference was where the CAT was... on the DX it was on the header and the LX it was on the down low...im still doing research on it as to find out if it is like this on all or changed from year to year
