Few Question about the lasso tool

Just woundering if there a way to control the speed of the image shifting when you bump the edge of the window to move it over. I like to zoom up pretty close so I'm nuding it over a lot. It likes to really take off way out there. Tapping the edge helps a little but still overshoots and have a heck of a time getting back to were I need to be.
Also is there a way of undoing an accidental doubleclik when you not done lassoing yet. Hitting delete wount unachor the loop I found out.

Thanks.

P.S. If I shouldn't be asking noob questions here let me know. I realize this is a graphic board and not a "help me learn photoshop forum" and I 'll refrain from such simple questions. :)
