cant get into gear

ok i just got this crx hf, and when i start it, it wont go into gear. but when i shut it off and i can put it into gear then start it. but then it wont go into any other gear. can anybody help me?

throw out bearing? Did you try pushing in the clutch a few times before putting it in gear? Maybe the synchos need to line up? Can you drive it if you put it in first and start it then?

no matter how hard i push in the clutch it just wont go into gear, when it starts. i can turn it off then put it in first, then start it, but then i cant go into any other gear. :banghead:

check your linkage. maybe it got bent somehow.

i had the same symptoms 3 days ago. mine was the clutch. the 89 hf clutch i had didnt have springs, it had some sort of rubber and sheilded by a steel cover. well one of them decided to let loose and some how jammed the clutch. this may be the same in ur case also. check the cable adjustment first and make sure when pushing the clutch in the linkage moves freely.

my car did that too... but it was after my dif decided to explode on me.... litterally...

i could ram the car into gear (like really pound on the shifter to get it to go in) but the car just wouldnt move.....

had the same problem a week ago it was that a bolt of the flywheel fell of and it was hiting with the clutch. just trew the tranny down put som loctite on the bolt put it back on, then I decided to put new preasure plate and clutch ACT. every thing was fine. but maybee is ur clutch went bad or a spring fell of. i dont think its ur diferential because it can go into gear when the car is of, mine did the same thing had to put her into gear when the car was off and turn the car on and drive in first to my house, thankfully a few minutes away.

that kinda sounds like when i snapped my pressure plate in half! i had to shut the car off and put it in 1st then drive home in first, boy that was fun! :rolleyes:
