Tall guy vs. 3000GT/stealth

I am currently looking at a blue dodge stealth online. I am intrested in buying it. But before I go to the dealership I would like to know If the stealth would fit a 6 foot 5 guy. I test drove an eclipse gsx but the steering wheel did not go up enough for my big ass long ass legs. any other tall people out there drive a 3gt or stealth? thanks alot. the interesting thing is I can drive a 99 grand am but my legs are next to the wheel on each side.Please bare with me as I live out in the middle of nowhere so I cant exactly go down the street and hop in one and try it. thanks

I'm just over 6'1" and I fit with room to spare. The guy who bought my 94 is about your height and is in the 270 pound range (mostly in the shoulders) and while it was a snug fit, he seems pretty happy with the ride.

If you're evently proportioned you'll be fine. If you have long legs you'll be snug. If you have a long torso then you'll havve problems with your head touching the roof. Its going to be close.

Where do you live? Maybe there is someone on the board here who is in your area and can give you a test drive. If not here, check www.3si.org (http://www.3si.org) and ask for some opinions as well.

Most people don't have an issue as long as your in proportion. If you have short arms or legs you might have an issue.

If it has a sunroof that will give you extra room. If It has a moonroof you'll have a problem. I'm 6 ft I fit fine in the RT/TT(no sun/moon roof) the 98 SL is tight becasue us has a moonroof and the edge of the roof is thicher and centered on the seat

Im 6'4" and fit fine. But just sit in the car and you will know.

I'm 6'10" and i have a '93 VR-4. No real troubles driving it but not exactly the most comfortable car in the world if you're tall.

6'10? Damn... I'm surprised you can fit in these cars. I'm 5'9 :) So I don't have to worry about that kind of thing.

jeez i was expecting no replies. I havent been online in a little while. Agian talskinguy I am out in knotts island which is 20 minutes away from civilization so i cant just test drive one down the street. I have longer legs than torso, but its not by much. I really appreciate the feedback. I drove an hour and a half to find the eclipse with 25k original miles in my range only to find out that the steering wheel did not go up enough to allow the needed movement. There is a 91 stealth automatic with 59k mile with the 60k service and a performance downpipe and muffler for 4700 or a 93 5 speed with 87k for 3300. Im kinda leaning towards the 5spd because I am so damn tired of an automatic. Sound like good deals without looking at them yet

Yeah, take the 5sp. You can always have more fun with manual :)

well I went to check out the cars and the one with 60k was sold just as I arrived. all I could say is WTF. Then i swung by a saw the shit pile called a car. It had been keyed dented all the stero equipment was taken out ( by force) the shifter knob and boot was missing. In the ad it said new inspection. I looked at the window and it had a rejection sticker.(guess it never said if it passed or not) the tires were rotated wrong the rim patern was going one way in the front and another in the rear.( they were the stock base model rims) then the guy asked if I wanted to take it for a spin, I was like how in the hell am I gonna drive it with no shift knob, I didnt know I had to bring one from home. Then I asked him If I could sit in it for a sec and He couldnt find the key. So Im back to square one, still havent sat In a 3000gt or stealth.

that sounds as if it was a very frustrating series of events. i might have ended up kicking the guys ass for making that bs listing. Anyways, you should keep looking, the 3000gt's and stealths are great cars. good luck.
