Weird problem

For the last couple of days my car has been vibrating (at least I think, it could be a small misfire :dunno: ) I can feel it the worst when I am going up hill in third between 2000-2500 rpm. It feels like it is vibrating but sometimes it feels like a misfire. :screwy:
Could a misfire be small, last time I had a misfire problem, the car bogged like crazy, and the CEL blinked. Some times I feel it in other gears like 4th but mostly in 3rd. :screwy:
I am confused if it is a misfire problem or something else :eek7:

Have you checked:

plugs
wires
PCV
fuel filter
air filter

?

Help us narrow it down. :)

The fuel filter was replaced 1 month ago.
I will check the plugs and wires tonight. And the air filter is clean.

The only thing with the misfire is, could it be this small. Because sometimes it doesn't happen and sometimes it does. Sometimes it is smaller, sometimes bigger. Sometimes it feels like it is vibrating. And 98% of the time this happens in 3rd between 2-2.5k rpm.

It is the worst on a hill, it still happens on a normal road. But on the normal road it feels like it is less or sometimes I dont feel anything. :screwy:

My did recently checked my uncle's 96 Mustang because it had the check engine light on. He connected his portable computer thing (i forgot what its called) and it reported a misfire. I was able to notice the vibration, but it was very minimal.

I guess your problem could be a misfire, even if it's small.

Can a misfire occur in only 3rd gear. I would think it would occur in others. Because whatever cylinder is misfiring, it has to misfire in other gears also.

haha. I had the same problem wiehn accelerating hard or getting goin in the lower rpms. I changed my plugs and wires and it was all good from there. but as far as it being gear specific, I have no idea. Not too sure on the misfire either. I'm still tryin to get the hang of the whole engine side of things. good luck though

Would it be better or worse to add turbo sparkwires on a regular none turbo? to improve performance?

you wouldn't really notice a difference. you're better off sticking with oem spec plugs, or ngk's. 95gskracer recommends stock wires or maybe magnecore. I'll take his word for it. I wouldn't bother with them. I'd stick with things that are made for your car to be safe

Stock wires and stock plugs for me. Well I think I am going to buy a range hotter plugs this time since they were recomemded if you make a lot of short trips.
