It's been over a week since the contest began, so I figured I'd better get this thread started. I was going to do a Ruf CTR, but that was going to take too long. Then a UCF11 Celsior with the Admiration Blister kit. Also too long. Settled on the Aoshima Nissan Leopard I recently purchased. Finally got a chance to start on the car yesterday.
External modifications
- replaced standard bumper with Ultima Twincam Turbo bumper
- vented hood (in progress)
- widebody kit (in progress)
You can see what I've started on so far. The widebody kit will be a challenge, since I've never done anything like that before. Wheels are Volk CE28N's painted Gunze Mr. Metal Chrome Silver. Haven't decided if I want the centers gold or not. Body color will be Finishers Pure Black.

Interior almost complete. A few details need to be added. A Modeler's racing harness will be added to the Bride seat.

Progress updates will be slow on this one. I plan on using the whole 2 months, though I'd like to have this ready for the show in Austin on May 1st.

Awesome. Why not paint the wheel centers the same color as the body? That might be cool...
Anyways, looks good so far. Hope to see it finished!

Thanks for the comments, guys.
The Bride seat and decal came with the kit. Several of the older Aoshima S Parts cars have Bride seats. Just look on the side of the box (pic below is from my kit).

Body is slowly coming along. Wide-body kit built and fitted. Now lots of sanding and priming ahead. Until then, the finished interior.

Japanese hobby shop. Though they are probably sold out now.
Wheels were painted last night, but the gold a little too shiny. Probably strip and repaint. Contemplating switching to BBS LM's.
Yup, an auto. Thought about switching to manual, but decided, nah.

Its good for high traffic areas...and if your driving a stick with a spring loaded clutch, if you can handle that high traffic shit, and feathering up a bridge for half an hour....boy you will have one big ass left leg!!

Well, not much progress, but some. Got sidetracked building a new shelf for my paints. Went on a spree, so I needed more space.
Still got a lot sanding to do on the body. Chassis and wheels are finished. I hate molded in chassis details. Finally decided with Alclad Chrome for the CE28N's wrapped with 19" VIP tires.
Have to hurry. Contest is three weeks away.
