hey,
just noticed today that my passenger side wheel sticks out farther that the driver side. i find that kina odd. just wondering if this should be a concern or what? i dont have any spacers or anything.
also when i turn to the right i get a thumpping noise comeing from underneather my jeep, and the fater i make the turn the harder and faster the thump. it doesnt do it when i turn left but i do feel some roughness. i guessing its the u-joints, could it be anything else?, and if it is the u-joints which one? could this affect my handeling?
thanx

:loser: HI, AGAIN IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A BAD U JOINT ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE. CHECK BY JACKING THE FRONT END OFF GROUND BOTH SIDES, ROTATE EACH TIRE BACK & FORTH IF YOU HAVE BAD U JOINTS YOU HEAR CREAKS AS THE WHEEL TURNS. CHENGE THEM BEFORE THEY BREAK & WRECK YOUR FRONT AXLE. DALE

i had the same problem with my 88. i first thought it was the wheel bearing. so i jacked it up and checked, no visible sign of being bad also no unusual movement in the bearing so i pulled the front axel and found the ujoint to be in good shape. i did some further checking and found out the wheel bearings on the jeeps sometimes act like a ujoint. i checked again and still couldn't find anything that i could pin down as wrong with the wheel bearing. After a discussion with a friend of mine who happens to be an instucter for automotive at the local college. He said it sounded like the wheel bearing and also said that with jeep having a sealed wheel bearing assembly you cannot always tell when it is bad. So I spent the $85.00 on the new assembly. Problem gone!!

hey,
thanx for the imput. but.. i took a look today under my jeep and i ony have two u-joints, that i can see, one at the rear diff and one at the t-case. those joints wouldent have that effect would they?? so that would mean that the wheel bearins are gone, right??? because i have no right u joint, it looks like my my whole front axle is one piece
thanx
i know im annoying ha ha
