As most of you know I bought my car used and the guy didnt have a keypad for the keyless entry,I didnt even know i had it on my car, But whn i look the doors a green security light comes on the gauge cluster for about a min r two and then goes off. Someone told me this means i have a factory alarm system.Well I ordered a keypad for my keyless entry(b/c I ddnt know i had a alarm too) from the local dealer for $70. When it came in I tried it and it didnt work the guy said it had to be programed to my car. I asked how much would that be, he said about $150.I WAS LIKE WTF y , and y didnt you tell me this when i ordered it. He responded by saying you didnt ask me. Y THE FUCK WOULD I HAVE TO ASK you, not everyone is a expert and shit.Anyway I got my money back. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me any ideas of what to do r where to go to get my factory alarm to work. I'm going to go back to another dealer and ask how much one would cost that works my alarm and all. And if its not to bad i'll get it, but if its too much i'll get an aftermarket one.Anyone know if I could get a aftermarket keyless entry to work w/ my factory alarm r any good alarms that work with a GREDDY TURBO TIMER.

i think all the cars come with a stock alarm dude. roll down your window and lock your car with the keys out and that green light should come on. then open the door from the outside and your lights and horn will go. thats all it is if i was your id return the keypad and just go buy a clifford or somthing.

Use the key to unlock the drivers door from the outside to shut off the factory alarm.

Just replace your whole alarm system

If you want to get the remote back... and it was a 2 button remote.

Open driver door and keep opened
Turn ignition key to the run or on position and keep it there
Using your valet button, press it once then release, then press again and hold it down.
The red led light should blink in a series of one time.
Press button 1 on your transmitter
Now release the valet button and press it once more, then release, then press and hold it again.
Led will blink twice
Press button 2 on your transmitter
Now release the valet button, then press again, release then press and hold, led will blink 3 times
Push both buttons 1 and 2 on the transmitter at the same time.

Turn off your key, then turn it on then off again.

See if that works.

that is the way to program the oem alarm. damn... go ashah! if you feel the oem alarm is sufficient, and you now know how to program it, go for that. it'll be cheaper by far. BUT, should you crave an obnoxiously loud and complicated aftermarket alarm, be sure to disarm your oem alarm. or it will plague you constantly. (happened to a friend) to dismantle it all you have to do is pull of your door panel and there should be a small mechanism with some wires comming off that is attatched to your lock. just clip the.... uh... green one I belive. it's been a while! and cap it off. this should keep the system for auto arming itself whenever you lock the door. be sure to leave enough wire to reconnect it though, in case that doesn't work. it worked on my friends talon.. but that also could have been sheer dumb luck!

That only will work for the two button transmitter. I actually haven't tried this so I dont know if it will work for sure.

It would be interesting to find out. I ran across this on the internet a while ago so I wrote it down, and then I could not find the site later. But i still had this. :)

I would go buy a remote and try this, if it doesn't work return it again.
I also think autozone or pepboys (can't remember which) is also selling factory remotes now. Saw a sign on their door when I went there last time. Maybe the remote will be cheaper there.

at http://www.savinglots.com/lotprod.asp?item=VIPER791 you can get the viper 791xv with remote start for 240 bucks. it has the lcd screen keychain and everything. i would do that instead of fuckin with the oem alarm. jus my two cents tho.

if you're gunna buy an alarm do yourself a favor and get a viper or avital. both are made by the same company but are extremely reliable. personally i wouldn't put anything other than viper in my car.

I 2nd that. You might be able to save a little going with some of their other lines like Python or even Hornet. Most are all the same, just the warranties change. I know, I sell them

ponchonutty thanks for having my back in that and yea for what it would cost him to get a new factory remote and program it he can easily get the viper 791. it won't make to much of a difference in price if he goes with hornet... its pretty nuck the same company. i've installed the viper countless times and i am a huge fan of the 791. thas the only alarm to get if your gunna get one. and its well worth the money.

if anyone has any questions on audio shit feel free to ask i may not kno the answer right away but i prolly can get it for you.
