My parents have a Celebrity from Reagan's second term, '86 I think. Strong smell of gas while driving. Any tips for locating gas leaks? Thanks, Parmenides3

I had a 85' skylark P.O.S. haha anyways it sat in an old ladys garage for 11 years and when i aquired it the gas lines and tank were rotted.. Trace the lines from the throttle body down along the firewall and they run under the body usually on the drivers side, If its an 86' Im guessing theres some rot on the car and the lines usually give out, at the bends.. If its a super small leak you might need to start the car to get the pressure up in the lines.. worse case rent a sniffer tool (detects fumes) my buddy is a plumber and he uses one for testing pipes.. Im assuming that would work well.

I have a 2000 Grand Am, I smell gas after I fill the tank, and also after it has been driven a lot. I have searched for a leak but can't find one. Also the service engine soon light is on. I thought it was the gas cap, but perhaps the gas smell may be the problem. Any suggestions on either would be appreciated.
