Hi,

I am in a little bit of a bind at the moment.... As you can probably guess I have a S13 Silvia NA Auto SR20... one week ago I killed the motor (but that’s another story)..... I have a R32 front cut sitting in my garage, I was planning on rebuilding the motor and spend some $$ on it, but now as my car is dead I just need to get the RB into the Silvia so I can get the car going again...

What I need is some advice... Has anyone done this swap before ? I have been told a few different things, my main confusion right now is the engine mounts. Some people say use the GTS mounts in the standard location, and others say that if I do that the motor will sit too high and too far forward for the bonnet to close properly without modification. The best I have been told was by JMS that I will need to get “Plates” made to make the engine sit in the right location. I have a good mate that works in the fabrication business and will make the mounts if I can tell him what I need, but that.. I cannot get out of anyone. I wish I had the time to figure it out but I need to get the car on the road ASAP ….

Is there any way of getting out of modifying the tail shaft? (ie: get the whole R32 tailshaft diff etc?) Also do you think I will get approval here in QLD without doing the brakes? (I do plan to do them, would be crazy not to but as I said I need the car on the road ASAP).

If someone has done this before, what problems did you have (if any)… anything that I should look out for? I wish I had more time to do some research into this but just don’t…… I guess I’m trying to call on your knowledge base to get some quick answers…

Any help would be good!

Thanks

Ed
