next hp boost?

I (obviously) have an 88 5.0L v8 t-bird that i want to make faster. I haven't done much to it except rebuild the tranny and put intake and glasspacks on it. My dad says i should put a pair of injectors on it next and my friend says a new throttle body. I don't have much money so i need input as far as what will be cheap and effective.

I understand what you're saying, but i was looking for suggestions on top of those already given. Eventually, i wanted to completely rebuild the engine with all aftermarket parts, but hopefully you can understand that i don't have the money for that. I have about 1200 dollars stashed away and i was looking to buy a supercharger and later my dream is to convert the car from an automatic to manual tranny. I was kind of asking if there was anything else i could do to the car that would give a decent boost to horsepower for cheap other than what i had mentioned.

Get some headers and open up the rest of the exhaust to at least 2 1/2, if you can. At least cat back. Keep in mind that whatever you do to the engine itself (heads, intake manifold, cam, injectors, MAF, TB, etc.) you may have to redo it all once you are ready for the blower. For a blower, you should be around an 8.5:1 compression ratio, higher (9.5-10.0) if you keep it NA. Not sure what you mean by intake. Plumbing, larger MAF & TB, or the manifold itself? Get a cold air intake or make one yourself. Get rid of the fan and put an electric one on there. You may want an underdrive pulley set. If you can get rid of the air pump, do that. Emissions may be a concern for you so keep that in mind. Rear gears would not be a bad idea, either.

Awesome, thanks a bunch: by intake i meant i replaced the factory filter with a superflow cone filter. Nothing extravagent

well.. how about convert it from its non HO to a roller camshaft high output 302? Can be done with parts from a Mustang GT in the junk yard.
