Bought another project car today (pics)...

i swear....the projects find us!

long story short jer got a call from our guy car at the lot this morning. he says he just got an "acura repo" in. we go down and check it out. turns out to be a '93 Integra with 134,000. apparently they had to go to colorado to repo the car & the car doesn't run. at this point it was more trouble to them than it was worth. the guy tells jer to make an offer...jer ends up making a really low offer. so low he said he felt stupid offering it. the guy says "cash?"...jer says "yes"...the guy says "sold!"

for whatever reason there is a break in the power somewhere from battery to ignition. of course we have our fingers crossed for something as simple as a fuse but are prepared for worse. it's a good thing "electrical" is his line of work

the ONLY damage to the exterior of the car is a missing molding and the funky scratch under the molding area.

after we get the car home and washed i'll take some better quality pics. i thought the green si was in mint condition :grinno: ...this teg has it beaten

the plan is not do anything but fix and resell. a friend had his hand in the white teg and did some "mods" ( :disappoin ) i would normally never do. i feel with this teg more money can be made by selling it to some lady who wants a nice daily driver than somebody looking to buy a car sitting on 17's.

its an auto cause they built it that way in the factory :D she wasnt buying it to race, but more of to fix it and sell it for a profit.

lol! It was love.. I had an old bus habit. I just couldn't get enough of them! Then I migrated to a Rabbit habit (those things REALLY multiply!! :) ). The last one that I had was an '84 GTI. I sold it right before it fell apart. :grinno:

I still have one VW.. a '73 squareback. Just can't bring myself to part with it... It's got a brand new engine in it.

IT'S ALIVE....teh teg is ALIVE!!! it had a bad ignitor which was fix by the ignitor from a y8 dizzy. apparently coils and ignitors are interchangeable because the teggy is obd1 and the y8 is odb2...go figure :dunno:

i have been doing a happy dance and giving out homer "woo-hoo's" all day. the tranny is as smooth as butter...engine gets up and goes. i cleaned the car up inside & out today....more pics will come tomorrow

oh, how sweet! Does it run? Mine hasn't run in two years, poor thing. It's a rust bucket, pretty unsafe to drive. I've been waiting for another VW to come along to stick that new engine in. I had it built using a universal case, so it will go in a bug, bus, OR another type III. :D

we've had ours quite a few years but it doesn't run :( the motor is all rebuilt and sitting in the car. i'm sad to report that happened the summer before last. last summer it was all honda. we really need to put aside some time to get it on the road before it starts to rust.

we took the teggy on a little road trip yesterday. it ran flawless. flew up hills in cruise control at 70 with ease.

on the way home we went the twisty route. there was a brand new bug in front of us that wanted to play. the bug did better in the 25mph curves with the smaller wheel base....but it had nothing else. it was a fun drive home.

it is a shame that car is AT. it is in excellent condition and would make a perfect daily driver IF it were MT. AT will do me no good living on a hill in the winter
