Tamiya 1/24 Xanavi Nismo GTR34-SpecialEdition
Here is my latest project in progress.
The kit comes with some very nice photo etched parts as well as carbon fiber decals, making it a very nice build right out of the box!
I am adding some Scale Motorsports racing harnesses and some additional carbon fiber/Kevlar decals.
Hope you like it! Any feedback would be appreciated!
Thanks
Chris

great job! thats some serious detail work!!
although I have to say this model is not complete. seeing Tamiya do such a perfect job on this car and leave out its heart (engine) leaves me wanting more. seriously, seeing you do such a nice job on this and thinking about building one just makes me hate the model for lack of engine detail.

Thank you.
I agree with you... the lack of engine detail takes away from the kit. As it does in so many of their kits right now.
I thought about removing the hood and making the block from scratch. Only problem is, I have had a hard time finding any pictures of this car.

absolutly awesome. Fantastic work, great detail.
I actually built the same as a slotcar and thought mine was ok but you just blow every thing away!!
I built # 22 as a test to see how the parts could be made to fit a slot car chassis and what kind of mods would be needed to make the most of the original kit keeping in mind the fact that the car must be light in order to peform on the track.
I will (try to) build the #23 and the calsonic a lot better, also the PE parts are not yet on and a driver will also be placed in the car (.... any helmet pics??) My rear wheel wells and the parcel shelf are scratch built to save weight and parts of the slot car chassis are scratch built out of real cardon fiber
I checked out this site for reference

After the first two coats of clear had were dry the body was washed...then very fine sandpaper was used while the body was under running water to even out the top coat and remove any dust.
Here is a great visual explanation.
